DEPARTMENT OF ACCOUNTING SCIENCES

The Department of Accounting Sciences is the Academic Unit that seeks the development of Accounting Sciences through research, teaching and continuing education, consulting, and advisory services.

The Department is responsible for:
(a) guaranteeing the academic quality of all research activities, through research groups, projects, and intellectual production as well as the impact of the results;
(b) teaching to the undergraduate and graduate levels and
(c) provision of services, with the development of continuing education, consultancies, and advisory services.

The teaching team is made up of 15 full time professors, who carry out research work at the highest academic level, which is published in textbooks, articles in peer-reviewed journals, and other non-peer-reviewed publications and of disclosure.
Our professors are also part of recognized research centres, state entities, and private sector organizations, helping to generate impact in society and complementing and enriching the training process of our students.
The Department has a research group endorsed by Colciencias (Colombian Institute for the Development of Science and Technology), which is involved in: the accounting context and field groups.

ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES

The Department is in charge of managing research and academic results.
With the aim of providing feedback and strengthening research, the Department periodically offers seminars, congresses and academic events, which highlight the progress made by the research groups of which the Department's professors are part.  In those events, researchers from other academic institutions, some of them abroad, are invited to present and discuss state of the art research in different areas of accounting and finance. 
The Department has been visited by renowned academics who have been in charge of seminars and courses in the international arena, this seeks to strengthen and complement the training and research process of the faculty members and our students.
